Identification

The information that you provide in the Identification section allows the system to recognize you. If you are using our on-line services for the first time click on the "Password" tab and follow the instructions.

Who are you?

Indicate whether you are a student or the student's father or mother, sponsor or spouse by selecting the appropriate term from the drop-down list.

If you are using our on-line services only to access documents related to the Explore Program, select "Student. "

Sponsor

Aide financière aux études uses the term sponsor within the meaning of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. A sponsor is a Canadian citizen or has permanent resident status and who promised the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles to sponsor a student, with whom he or she is closely related, when the student applied for permanent resident status in Canada. Through this promise, the sponsor agrees to financially satisfy for three to ten years the basic needs of the student and, if applicable, the members of the student’s family who immigrated with him or her to Canada.

Permanent code or SIN

If you are a student, enter the permanent code that was assigned to you by the Ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport. This code appears on the secondary school report card, college transcripts and any correspondence sent by us.

  • If you do not have a permanent code, you cannot use our on-line services. If you wish to file an application under one of our programs (e.g. Loans and Bursaries Program, Explore), you must first complete the paper form. For more information, contact the financial assistance office at your educational institution.
  • Certain universities use what they call a "permanent code" or "matriculation number", which should not be confused with the permanent code assigned by the Ministère.

If you are the student's parent, sponsor or spouse, indicate your social insurance number (SIN).

Password

Enter your password. If you have not yet chosen a password or if you wish to change your current password (for example, if you have forgotten it), click on the "Password" tab and follow the instructions.

Choose or change your password or your personal question

To access your file or an on-line form, you must have a password. On the following pages, you must enter the password you have chosen, and a personal question and response. It is important that you keep the response a secret.

Choose a password and enter it. It will enable you to access your on-line file.

The password must consist of a combination of 6 to 8 alphanumeric characters, including at least one number and one letter (example: X70809, 3pommes or ABC2xy20 ). It must not contain any diacritic, typographic or punctuation signs (no accents, spaces, periods, etc.).

Change your password or your personal question and response

Follow the instructions to change your password or your personal question and response.

SIN

Enter your social insurance number (SIN). Your password will be linked to it.

Date of birth

Enter your date of birth. Start with the four numbers of the year, and then enter two numbers for each the month and the day. Do not put a dash between the numbers.

To access your file, you must choose a password and a personal question and response. Your password is important, because it protects the confidentiality of the information in your file. If you forget it, your personal question and response will enable you to recover it.

Enter and confirm your password

Enter the password you have chosen and confirm it. Your response can contain several words, numbers, symbols or letters. If it is composed of several elements, you can separate them using a space. The system takes into account accents, but not uppercase or lowercase letters.

Important! For security reasons, it is very important that you choose your response carefully and that it remain secret. If you think that someone close to you could correctly answer your personal question, we suggest that you add a number, symbol, word or your initials to your response to make it harder to find. Keep in mind that any person who can correctly answer your personal question can change your password and access your file. When you wish to change your password, you must provide a response to your question.

Change your password

You can change your password provided you know the response to your personal question. If you have forgotten your response, click on the "Password" tab and select "Change the personal question and response". Once you have recorded a new response, you can change your password by clicking on the "Password" tab again.

Personal question

The personal question that appears on the page is the most recent.

Personal response

You must provide the response to your personal question. You must answer using the exact words, letters, numbers or symbols. Your answer may consist of a single element.

If you have forgotten your password and your personal question or response, access to your file will be refused. Contact the financial assistance office of your educational institution to obtain a temporary password.

Otherwise, you can contact our client services at 418-643-3750 (Québec City), 514-864-3557 (Montréal) or 1-877-643‑3750 (toll-free elsewhere in Canada and the United States) if you are in one of the following situations: you are only interested in the Explore program, you are studying outside Québec, or if you are the parent, sponsor or spouse of a student.

Note that you must change your temporary password, before you can access your file.

Date on which the current password was chosen or most recently changed

If you know that you did not choose or change your password on the date indicated, you must assume that someone else knows the response to your personal question. We therefore suggest that you change the response as soon as you choose a new password in order to protect access to your file.

New password

Enter a new password. Be sure that it is different from the current password for security reasons.

Confirm the new password

You must re-enter the new password in the space provided in order to confirm your new password.

You can change your personal question and response provided you know your password.

If you have forgotten your password, click on the "Password" tab and select "Change the password". Once you have recorded a new password, you can change your personal question and response by again clicking on the "Password" tab. Important! Verification of your identity

The "Verification of your identity" section allows us to verify your identity the first time you use our on-line services.

Password

Enter your password. It will enable you to access your on-line file.

Enter your first name and last name, as they appear on your birth certificate.

Replace your temporary password

To be able to access your file, you must change the temporary password that you were assigned. Note that it is only valid for 72 hours.
